Just wanted to share a Direct Line story. I have their Home Response insurance - 24 hour emergency cover for any home repair problems. Early this morning, the pressure in our central heating went haywire - causing a radiator to expand like a ball and eventually fracture. I immediately called Direct Line - explaining that we had a double problem - water coming out of the radiator damaging the carpet and with a potential to come through the flooring to the ceiling below as well as a central heating/boiler issue. I was told that an engineer would call within the hour and arrange a time to come in. No call came, co called Direct Line again and was told the same thing. Still no call came. Come mid afternoon, I called again only to be told they'd put my telephone number in the wrong box on the screen so they'd have to start again! Engineer finally called to say he was now fully booked and could try and fit us in by COB tomorrow. Not his fault I know - but I guess I should have realised that when Direct Line say "24 hour emergency assistance" - what they really mean is that you'll have to " wait well over 24 hours before we'll get help to you!" Still, I suppose there's one consolation - I have my Home Contents insurance with them as well so in not getting the repair done as quickly as they said they would - they'll now have to cover the claim cost for a new carpet! Think it's worth everyone checking on the small print if they have similar policies.

AOL is still spamming mailboxes

What’s the difference between unsolicited e-mail and unsolicited postal mail? The e-mail is easier to ignore and discard, whereas I must physically carry the postal mail from my mailbox, into my home, and finally into the garbage can.

I have tried so many times to stop procrastinating - I have now reached the grand old age of 35 without being able to kick this problem - I'll let you into a little secret, I'm doing it now......

Thanks for your link, Kenny. To me, it looks like there was a clash over how the club should be run. Romanov seems to want to own and manage the team, leaving little for a full-time coach to do. As someone on Radio Scotland pointed out, that sort of management style isn't likely to attract a top-class manager to the emptied post. Perhaps, Romy has someone in mind, already. Who knows!?

Kick in the teeth indeed. When everything was going so well. I've put together some
rumours about why it happened, if you're interested.
